The rate card, priced for your load
206.67 kg per pallet
Carrier B (Road standard) is recommended for a "Balanced" priority because it has the best balanced score (0.65) across cost, speed and reliability. Price £660 (3 × £220 per pallet), 3 days in transit, 95% historical on-time rate.
- — Carrier A (Road economy): £120 cheaper, 2 days slower, 3 pts less reliable.
- — Carrier C (Road express): £360 more, 1 day faster, 3 pts more reliable.
- • Transit times and on-time rates are the carrier's published averages from the rate card, not a delivery guarantee.
How the Balanced score works
Among eligible carriers, each dimension is scaled 0–1 (best = 1): cost and transit by (worst − value) ÷ (worst − best), on-time rate by (value − worst) ÷ (best − worst). Balanced = 0.4 × cost + 0.3 × speed + 0.3 × reliability. Cost gets the biggest weight because on this rate card the faster services are also the more reliable ones, so weighting speed and reliability equally to cost would count that premium twice. Ties go to the lower price, then shorter transit, then higher on-time rate.
